We are a globally active consulting firm specializing in the successful delivery of technically demanding projects in the solar and battery sectors based in Italy and Germany. Our team is composed of highly qualified engineers from Italy and Germany with extensive expertise in renewable energy as well as medium- and high-voltage (MV/HV) systems. Technical depth is combined with a strong understanding of the economic context of energy projects, along with a high degree of flexibility and well- established international networks. This integrated approach supports efficient project delivery from concept through implementation.
Founded in Rome, Italy, in 2022 by Massimiliano Pili and Simon Hartmann, the company initially operated under the name PH Consulting Engineering Srl. In 2025, Innovo PH Engineering Services was acquired by Innovo Renewables Spa, a renewable energy development platform headquartered in Milan, Italy. This acquisition marked a significant milestone in the company’s journey, expanding its reach and capabilities in the renewable energy sector. By joining forces with Innovo Renewables Spa, Innovo PH Engineering Services gained access to a wider network of resources and expertise, further enhancing their ability to deliver innovative solutions in the solar and battery industries, and opened a new office in Munich, Germany.

Rodolfo Bigolin is the founder and Group CEO of Innovo Renewables, a leading renewable energy platform in Europe with over 7 GW in projects. In December 2022, Innovo partnered with Iberdrola for renewable energy plants in Italy. In July 2023, Aviva acquired a 35% stake in Innovo, providing essential growth capital and a €30m commitment for 2024. Rodolfo previously co-founded Horus Energy, launched Suncore Energy Holding, and established Green Power Europe, managing a 400 MWp project pipeline. Innovo Group oversees his ventures, employing over 100 people across Italy, the UK, and Germany.

Massimiliano Pili is a renewable energy expert with over 20 years of experience and a strong engineering background. As Co-Founder and Managing Director at Innovo PH Engineering Services, he has held senior roles in both development and independent power production (IPP). He previously led engineering for a major German power producer, focusing on large-scale solar and storage projects in Europe. His expertise encompasses all aspects of renewable energy project development, ensuring high performance and sustainability. Based in Rome, he support clients across in technical and strategic aspects in whole Europe.

Simon Hartmann is a German energy engineer with a Master’s in Business Administration and Engineering, focusing on energy companies and startups. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Innovo PH Engineering Services, advising international clients on complex energy infrastructure projects like battery storage systems, photovoltaic plants, and substations across Germany, the UK, France, Spain, and the Nordics. Based in Munich, Germany, with a blend of technical, commercial, and legal expertise, Simon supports clients throughout project lifecycles.
